ACTION NEEDED: Comment on TCEQ Air Quality Permit by MAY 7TH!

Many of you have seen the signs posted by the TCEQ and NRG regarding the Air Quality Permits applications on FM66, Crow Road, and Weakly Branch. The window on public comment is very short and ends May 7th. NRG evidently violated the rules by not posting the comment period. Please send your comments and ask for a public hearing ASAP. Be sure to submit comments on each one separately.

You can go online and submit comments at the TCEQ COMMENTS PAGE. Use the following templated language.

I am also requesting a public meeting on this proposed permit.

I am opposed to this permit application because [list anticipated health or environmental impacts].

According to the Texas Administrative Code, Title 30, part 1, Chapter 101, Subchapter A, Rule 101.4, States that, “No person shall discharge from any source whatsoever one or more air contaminants or combinations thereof, in such concentration and of such duration as are or may tend to be injurious to or adversely affect human health or welfare, animal life, vegetation, or property, or as to interfere with the normal use and enjoyment of animal life, vegetation, or property.”   I believe that I will be adversely affected by this facility and request a contested case hearing.”
